JASON'S FEED

I have just changed Jason's feed, to hopefully help a little more with his condition and 'top line'. Due to the cold winter we are having, the feed Jason has been having is no longer having the desired affect.

After a lot of research and asking around in the horsey world, I have decided to put him on: Calm and Condition (this is fed soaked and warm, like a gruel, so it is easier for him to eat and digest. It is excellent for putting on weight and top line.) Alfa A Oil (this is a relatively large 'chop' of alfalfa which has added soya and linseed oil, which will help put on weight and also be useful for Jason's joints and will make his coat shiney!) Sugar beet (fed soaked, this is a good bulking food and has slow release energy) Crushed barley (again slow release energy). Also added into each feed is: milk powder, biotin (to keep Jason's hooves strong) brewery yeast (helps maintain a healthy gut), garlic granules (for heart, blood and will be good as a fly repellent in the summer) soya oil, and a supplement which has been recommended called 365 supplement. This is an excellent all round supplement.

Jason still has 3 feeds per day and still has hay available all day.

I have a young lady helping me with Jason now too. Sally is giving Jason lots of tlc, love and attention. She visits 3 or 4 times a week and grooms Jason and rides once or twice a week. He is loving all the fuss!!
